FEMA announces forum to crowdsource best practices for COVID-19 response
The ‘Ideascale’ space is looking for ideas related to protecting vulnerable populations and managing supplies

WASHINGTON — The FEMA Continuous Improvement Program is using an online platform to crowdsource best policing, enforcement and safety practices amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a DHS press release, the
DHS Ideascale space
is designed to collect submissions from police, EMS, fire and government personnel. The forum is specifically looking for ideas and best practices that officials are using in areas related to:

Shielding the populations most vulnerable to COVID-19
Limiting exposure and transmission
Providing critical medical treatment
Sustaining the supply chain
“Best practices and innovations are being developed and implemented daily across government, private sector, medical, first responder, academic, and other communities of practice,” the press release reads. “This is a forum where you can make your voice heard and share ideas/ practices you have developed with government and other members of the public.”
Ideas shared on Ideascale will be used to inform a best-practices webpage compiled as a resource by FEMA officials, according to the press release. Users can also comment on and vote for or against ideas on the platform.
